If you have a checking account with The Southern you can pay bills through Online Banking instead of writing and mailing checks with just a few clicks!

  • You control the timing and the amount of each bill you pay.
  • You can schedule your bills as a single payment, such as utility bills and phone bills, or you can schedule recurring payments, such as mortgage and auto payments.
  • Bill pay is free when you sign up for eStatements. 

How to Enroll

To enroll for Bill Pay, log into online banking and select the Bill Pay tab to submit an application. Members can apply and be approved within 24 hours.

We reserve the right to close inactive bill pay accounts without prior notice. For additional information please refer to our credit union rate & fee disclosure.

How do I sign up for Bill Pay?
  • Log into your Online Banking account, click the Bill Pay tab at the top of the screen and follow the prompts for setting up Bill Pay.

Is there a monthly charge for using the Bill Pay service?
  • eStatement users and Heritage Club members have free unlimited use of our Bill Pay service. If you prefer paper statements, there is a $5.95 monthly fee for the Bill Pay service.

How many payees can I set up?
  • There is no limit to the amount of payees you may set up.

Is there a fee for placing a stop payment on an Bill Pay check?
  • There is a $35 fee for placing a stop payment on Bill Pay checks.

How can I know when the bill will be paid?
  • When you enter the amount to be paid, the calendar will display the first available payment date. You can choose that date or extend the payment out to a future date that you prefer the payment to be made.

How do I discontinue Online Bill Pay?
  • You can either visit one of our branches or send in a written request with your handwritten signature via:
